Brookshire Grocery Company is seeking a department manager to lead the perishable section, ensuring optimal product levels, quality, and customer service standards. You will supervise staff, oversee displays, and uphold food safety protocols across frozen and dairy departments.

We value strong leadership, experience in perishable operations, and hands-on inventory management. This role requires flexibility, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in a retail store setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 21+ years old to drive for Company business per policy.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two or more years of related experience or equivalent education.
• Food Handler certification required.
• Manager Food Safety certification required.
• AML certification required.
• HIPAA certification required.
• TABC/LACT/AATC certification where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Lead department personnel through interviewing, hiring, training and development.
• Plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance and address issues.
• Review historical data to forecast sales from ads and promotions.
• Manage inventory to maintain in-stock levels.
• Monitor profit, loss, sales, shrink and labor data; report to upper management.
• Enforce quality control and food safety standards; rotate dated products.
• Drive product sales via suggestive selling and displays.
• Ensure proper stock of frozen food and dairy displays; manage ordering paperwork.
• Provide friendly, customer-service oriented interactions.
