Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Supervisor in Wetumpka, AL to manage produce, meat, dairy, bakery, and related perishable areas. Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, and operating instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math: addition, subtraction, percentages and totals.
• Ability to learn and operate cash registers to generate reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Ability to follow plan-o-gram and merchandising guidance.
• Willingness to obtain food handling certifications.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with cash accountability and security practices.
• Follow SOPs, handbooks, and company communications.
• Maintain perishable stock levels using ads, planners, and order guides.
• Train associates on presentation, freshness, and pricing standards.
• Ensure safe handling of food and sanitation compliance.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes for corrective actions.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure customer needs are addressed promptly.
