Job summary

UF Health in Saint Augustine, FL seeks a Perioperative Technician to maintain operating rooms and equipment, secure supplies for the OR team, and assist with positioning and transferring patients within Perioperative Services.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS within 30 days of hire, and preferred CNA/MA/PCA credentials. This is a part-time, on-site position with variable days and hours.

Responsibilities

In this role the Perioperative Technician will perform the following duties:

• Clean and maintain the Operating rooms as well as all equipment
• Secure supplies for OR team, and restock rooms.
• Positioning, transferring and transporting patients within the various areas within Perioperative Services.

Qualifications

Education

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Licensure/Certifications

Required: BLS (American Heart Association) within 30 days from the date of hire.

Preferred:CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), PCA (Patient Care Assistant), or MA (Medical Assistant)

Experience

Required: Less than one (1) year of patient care (i.e. nursing assistant/surgical tech/ MA), Supply chain, Operating Room or relevant medical equipment experience

Preferred:3-5 years patient care, Supply Chain, OR, or relevant medical equipment experience

Necessary Skills

• Customer Service skills.
• Must possess manual dexterity, computer skills, and be able to work under pressure.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to read, spell and do simple math, write clearly and understand written and oral instructions.
• Need to have effective computer skills, including typing, and use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
