Job summary

UF Health Flagler Hospital seeks a Surgical Tech for Open Heart to join a nationally recognized academic health system focused on excellence in patient care, education, and research. You will work with physicians, nurses, and health care professionals to support cardiovascular diagnostic services and heart condition treatments.

The ideal candidate has Accredited Surgical Tech training, 3–5 years hospital experience, plus 2 years in Open Heart and Vascular tech, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate Accredited Surgical Tech Program.
• 3 to 5 years Surgical Tech (in hospital setting).
• 2-year Open Heart and Vascular Surgical Tech.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Set up the operating surgeon’s sterile field and anticipate surgeon's needs; pass instruments.
• Assist with surgical gowns and gloves and hand instruments to the surgeon during operations.
• Clean surgical instruments and the operating room after procedures.

Responsibilities

The Surgical Tech OH provides surgical assistance pre and post operation. Organizes and prepares supplies and equipment for procedures. Sets up the operating surgeon’s sterile field and anticipates surgeon's needs. Provides direct assistance for surgical procedure: assists surgeon with surgical gowns and gloves, hands the desired instruments to the surgeon during the operation, prepares sterile dressings. Cleans the surgical instruments and operating room post operation.

Schedule

FTE: .90 (3-12's shifts)

Hours: 6:45am-4:15pm

Days: Monday - Friday

Location: St. Augustine, FL
