Job summary

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to support perioperative areas with sterile, safe cleaning and rapid turnovers. You will learn terminal cleaning and collaborate with OR staff to maintain patient safety and high hygiene standards.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, reliability, and strong communication while working a stable 3:00pm–11:30pm shift in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or GED) strongly preferred.
• Ability to anticipate, prioritize, and coordinate work in a high stress environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Master environmental cleaning processes for perioperative areas.
• Perform sterilization duties in MOR and other surgical areas.
• Learn terminal cleaning to prevent HACs.
• Perform rapid room turnovers per OR sanitation standards.
• Clean and maintain OR areas and equipment.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is sterile, safe, and maintained.
• May assist with floor cleaning and refinishing.
• Shadow PSTs in preparing infusion devices for procedures.
• Maintain nursing carts, sets, and OR supply areas.
• Maintain and assemble disposable monitoring equipment.
• Ensure gas tanks and PPE are available.
• Handle sharps containers, soiled linen and trash properly.
• Assist in patient positioning for regional anesthesia or procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
