Job summary

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health is seeking a perioperative environmental services associate in New London, NH. You will perform cleaning and decontamination to support patient safety and sterile environments in the Surgical Services Department.

Under supervision, you will work with the peri-operative team, handle waste and instrumentation, and ensure adherence to AORN standards. You must obtain BLS within 30 days and have a high school diploma with two years’ experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 2 years’ work experience required.
• Ability to anticipate, prioritize and coordinate work in a high stress environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred.
• Ability to obtain BLS certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the peri-operative team to maintain safe, efficient workflows per standards.
• Clean perioperative areas including procedural spaces following regulatory standards.
• Remove and clean equipment, manage waste and linens properly.
• Handle blood, bodily fluids, and other materials safely.
• Report faulty equipment to supervisor.
• Maintain temperature and tracking logs; use PPE and keep records up to date.
• Attend training/competency for cleaning of peri-operative equipment.
