Job summary

Bryan College Of Health Sciences is seeking a Perioperative Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care as directed by the OR Manager or anesthesia providers. The role supports the general management of the nursing unit and anesthesia services to meet patient needs.

Responsibilities include transporting patients, performing surgical preps, handling sterile supplies, room setup, stocking ORs, and assisting with emergencies in accordance with departmental protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification may be required per manager’s discretion.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients as assigned.
• Performs surgical preps as ordered by physician.
• Transports blood products, specimens, supplies and equipment.
• Assists in patient positioning.
• Cleans operating rooms, scrub rooms, anesthesia equipment and work room.
• Delivers medications to operating rooms via case cart or medication cart; delivers anesthesia medications as needed.
