NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Perioperative Nursing Associate for the NSG-Operating Room, evenings, full-time (Mon–Fri schedule). The role focuses on sanitation, resource management and patient care support to maintain a clean, safe perioperative environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency.
• Mature interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills in management of time and priorities.
• Physical fitness to lift and position patients, move and manipulate heavy surgical equipment 80% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates Universal Precautions in cleaning/containment/disposal of blood/body fluids and proper PPE use.
• Participates in operating room turnover between surgical cases per established policies and procedures.
• Decontaminates used equipment and returns to designated storage site for charging or dust cover.
• Inspects and maintains equipment in optimum working order, cords and cables neatly coiled, furniture and carts clean.
• Maintains corridors neat and clear of safety hazards per safety codes.
• Inspects operating rooms for defects on an ongoing basis.
