Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Unit Support Associate for the Operating Room on a full-time basis. The role involves keeping the surgical area clean and safe while assisting with activities necessary for efficient unit functioning.

Responsibilities include transporting patients and supplies, maintaining inventory, and ensuring timely responses to patient, family, and visitor needs. Strong communication and basic computer skills are required, with 1–2 years of hospital experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Preferred 1–2 years in a hospital setting; basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients, supplies, laboratory specimens, blood, and other items as directed.
• Maintains inventory of unit or department supplies; stocks and distributes supplies, instruments, and linens as appropriate.
• Maintains patient safety and responds to patient, family, and visitor needs in a timely fashion.
• Performs cleaning duties to ensure orderly functioning of the unit; handles garbage and waste disposal.
