Job summary

Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama is growing and seeks a Perioperative Support Associate I (PSA) to join the Surgery team in the Main Operating Room. This Full-time, day shift role focuses on patient, specimen and equipment transport, OR sanitation and aiding in maintaining unit supply levels.

The PSA works under the perioperative nursing team and collaborates closely with the RN and anesthesia providers to support operations and patient flow.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare certification.
• Prior OR experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Clean stretchers, OR tables, equipment and rooms.
• Assist with transporting postoperative patients to the recovery unit.
• Perform operating room sanitation tasks.
• Stock operating room with supplies.
• Transport patient specimens, cultures, blood and body fluids as needed.
• Move and lift patients, supplies and equipment as required.
• Report defective material or equipment to supervisor.
