Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System seeks a Surgical Support Service Tech at Bell Hospital to ensure timely access to surgical supplies and instruments for the Perioperative Services team. You will assist in patient transfers, support anesthesia with equipment, and uphold high service standards across the department.

Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, coordinating with clinical teams, and ensuring proper decontamination and room readiness for procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification within 60 days.
• Respirator Fit Test required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient transfers and communicate with patients per high service standards.
• Coordinate with health care team to address room needs and follow-up.
• Stock emergency and specialty supplies to support patient care.
• Maintain organized inventory for quick accessibility by staff.
• Support Surgical Support Services Supervisor and Perioperative leadership in projects as assigned.
• Partner with anesthesia to ensure supplies are available for procedures.
• Perform room and department decontamination per guidelines.
• Pull supplies and instruments for cases with quality controls.
• Provide resources to staff during surgeries to minimize interruptions.
• Follow processes for acquiring, storing and handling surgical equipment.
