Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a part-time Perioperative Care Assistant in Great Bend to support the operating room and PACU teams under nursing management. You will assist with patient care, equipment setup, environmental cleanliness, and supply management while coordinating with other departments.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, CNA certification, and BLS. Training and certifications should be completed promptly, with accommodations provided if needed.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required; BLS certification within two weeks of employment.
• CNA certification and state licensure as applicable; nurse aide training completed.
• Additional certification may be required for certain patient care settings.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile field knowledge and ensures safe patient transport and positioning.
• Maintains environmental cleanliness standards in operating rooms and ancillary areas.
• Sets up equipment, gathers supplies, and performs routine equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Supports perioperative care team and para-nursing & housekeeping functions.
• Assists in reviewing case schedules to determine equipment and supply needs.
