Job summary

Staffmark is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room to provide perioperative care in a fast-paced surgical setting in New York. The role supports both inpatient and outpatient surgeries across multiple specialties, collaborating with surgeons and anesthesia teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

The position requires an active RN license, a nursing degree (associates or Bachelors), and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Current State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and comprehensive patient assessments and identify patient care needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.
• Provide age-appropriate and condition-specific nursing care.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity within the patient medical record.
• Develop, implement, and revise interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and healthcare teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and nursing standards.
• Support patient care throughout the perioperative process.
