Job summary

Northwell Health in New York seeks a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive, age-specific care in the operating room. The role requires assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s care with collaboration among physicians and the health team.

The RN will coordinate procedures, ensure safety, document outcomes, and participate in discharge planning as part of a dedicated unit. Current NYS RN license and OR experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months and obtain BSN within five years.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• BCLS, ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years Operating Room RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients’ physiologic health status and documents findings.
• Assesses psychosocial health status and supports patient needs.
• Identifies patient outcomes and develops care goals.
• Coordinates plan of care and prioritizes activities with the care team.
• Implements and reevaluates the plan of care, administers treatments, and ensures safety.
• Documents patient care and communicates with physicians and family.
• Participates in discharge planning and referrals as appropriate.

BSN preferred

Enrolled in BSN within 24 months

BSN within five years
