Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months recent nursing experience in an acute-care perioperative environment.
• External candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and infection control techniques.
• Ability to scrub and circulate in most surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• The Operating Room Nurse uses the nursing process to design, coordinate, and deliver patient care for operative procedures.
• May act as scrub or circulating nurse in various procedures.
• Acts as a role model to nursing students and new nurses to the unit.
• Functions as a Pt. Care Coordinator as requested.
