Job summary

Central Indiana Orthopedics (CIO) in Muncie, IN, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join our PreOp PACU team. You will assess patients pre- and post-operatively, monitor vitals, and support anesthesia care through the perioperative period.

Responsibilities include applying discharge criteria, managing pain and patient education, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient recovery.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical / surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice with good standing.
• ACLS within 90 days; PALS within 90 days if pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Promote mission, vision and values of SCA.
• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per policy.
• Interpret monitoring data and manage airway needs.
• Apply discharge criteria and manage perianesthesia plan.
• Educate patient and family on recovery and wound care.
• Provide hand-off reports and collaborate with team.
• Ensure patient rights, dignity and privacy in care.
