Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists - Specialists One Day ASC in North Syracuse, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pre-op/PACU, per-diem to support high-quality perioperative care.

The RN will assess and prepare patients before surgery, monitor post-operative status, and document findings. A minimum of 2 years PACU/critical care experience is required; strong communication and decision-making are essential for patient safety and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years PACU or critical care experience.
• Effective communication with providers, patients, and peers.
• Ability to maintain flow in post-operative care.
• Nursing perioperative knowledge and decision-making.

Responsabilités

• Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to surgery.
• Ensure operative and informed consents are signed and correct.
• Take and record vital statistics for readiness.
• Assess post-operative condition.
• Monitor vital signs and progress toward discharge.
• Document findings in patient files.
• Answer patient questions for comfort.
• Monitor for condition changes and report to physician.
• Gather medical history and provide pre-/post-operative care instructions.
• Perform other duties as needed.
