Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp PACU to support our ambulatory surgery center team in Charlotte, NC. You will assess patients pre and postoperatively, monitor vital functions, and apply standardized discharge criteria.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience.
• Medical / surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standings.
• BLS or BCLS within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• PALS if pediatric care is included within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status according to policies to include cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, hemodynamic, pain and mental status.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe pathophysiology of disease processes.
• Apply discharge criteria scoring systems accurately for transfer.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care and implement it.
• Provide recovery management for anesthesia including general, MAC, regional and local techniques.
• Communicate patient status during the perianesthesia continuum.
• Administer medications safely and monitor wound and tissue perfusion.
• Coordinate hand-offs and educate patients and families if applicable.
• Maintain patient rights, dignity, privacy and provide culturally competent care.

Education

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing

One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience

Current state licensure to practice

BLS/BCLS within 90 days

ACLS within 90 days

PALS if pediatric care is included
