Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgery: assess needs, vital signs, histories, IVs, pre-operative meds
• Monitor post-anesthesia recovery and vital signs
• Administer medications and post-operative care
• Coordinate patient care with surgeons, anesthesiologists and other staff
• Educate patients and families on pre- and postoperative care and provide reassurance
