Job summary

CAREOS Surgery Center in Austin, TX seeks an Operating Room Nurse (PRN) to join our ambulatory surgery team. You will contribute as circulating or scrub nurse, ensuring safe, efficient nursing care until patients transfer to recovery.

You will oversee instrument setup, coordinate room flow, and support anesthesia, with emphasis on patient safety and accurate documentation. CNOR/ACLS/PALS may be preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 1 year of OR experience, preferably ambulatory surgery.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment or compact licensure.
• BCLS certification required at employment (online not acceptable).
• ACLS as required by facility; PALS preferred at some facilities.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee OR instrument and equipment setup and anticipate surgeon needs.
• Coordinate and oversee the room as circulator during cases.
• Facilitate efficient transitions between procedures and patient care phases.
• Move patients safely using proper body mechanics; assist with anesthesia as needed.
• Review patient charts for completeness per documentation protocols before/after procedures.
