Job summary

Responsibilities span pre-op, OR, and post-op tasks, documentation in EHR, patient education, and collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia. FloridaRN license and ACLS/BLS are required; perioperative experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current active Florida RN license and ACLS/BLS CPR certifications.
• Perioperative experience preferred.
• Demonstrates sound critical thinking and judgment in emergencies.
• Ability to apply math to calculate dosages and medications.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ conditions and document medical histories and symptoms.
• Observe patients and record observations in the EHR.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Set up care plans and contribute to existing plans.
• Collaborate with doctors and healthcare professionals.
• Operate and monitor medical equipment; assist with tests and analyze results.
• Educate patients and families on managing illnesses and at-home care after discharge.
• Perform pre-op tasks: verify charts, schedule, equipment, narcotics, and consent.
