Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Peri-Anesthesia (Pre-Op/PACU) under a Per Diem, Days schedule.

The RN will deliver direct and indirect peri-operative care, perform pre-anesthesia assessments, monitor airway and vital status, collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists, ensure HIPAA compliance, and support a safe peri-operative continuum for patients of all ages.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate on hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training
• CNOR Certification (AORN) preferred; BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect peri-operative care in Pre-Op and PACU settings
• Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and post-anesthesia recovery monitoring
• Monitor airway, hemodynamic status, pain control, and level of consciousness
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Coordinate patient care and direct OR Technicians and support staff
• Ensure safe patient flow across the peri-operative continuum
• Maintain compliance with AORN, Joint Commission, and hospital standards
• Participate in performance improvement, unit meetings, and education
• Serve as a clinical resource to staff and team members
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure HIPAA compliance
