Job summary

Northern Wyoming Surgical Center in Cody, WY seeks a Registered Nurse (OP/PACU) to provide comprehensive perioperative care across preop, PACU, and recovery stages. The RN will work with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure safe, efficient patient flow and a positive care experience.

Required is Wyoming RN license with multistate option, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 2+ years in acute or surgical settings.

Qualifications

• Wyoming RN license in good standing or multistate license under the NLC.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA).
• National perioperative certification preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in acute care or surgical services.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive nursing assessments in preop and postop phases.
• Plan and deliver individualized perioperative nursing care per orders and standards.
• Verify preoperative documentation, patient ID, allergies, meds, and consents prior to surgery.
• Communicate significant findings to anesthesia, surgeons, and supervisors promptly.
• Administer medications safely within RN scope and document care.
• Provide postoperative care including airway, vitals, pain and nausea management, and discharge readiness.
• Educate patients and families on meds, activity, wound care, and follow-up.
• Supervise LPNs and CNAs within scope of practice.
• Maintain infection prevention and accurate clinical documentation.
