Job summary

Truman Medical Centers seeks a Perioperative Pre-op RN to support both the Operating Room and PACU teams in a fast-paced academic hospital setting in Kansas City, MO. The role emphasizes comprehensive perioperative care from pre-op through post-anesthesia recovery, including pain management and patient education.

The RN must hold Missouri licensure, and complete required BCLS and ACLS within 90 days of hire, with PALS as needed. Radiology training is a plus depending on department needs.

Qualifications

• Must hold Missouri RN license or be eligible for licensure.
• BCLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• PALS certification if required by department.
• Radiology training/competency if radiology functions are part of the role.

Responsibilities

• OR: provide comprehensive care during surgeries, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists and OR team to ensure safety and quality.
• PACU: monitor post-anesthesia recovery, manage pain, assess vitals, educate patients and families on recovery steps.
