Job summary

Truman Medical Center's UH1 Operating Room in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking a Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) to support the OR and PACU in a part-time PRN role with no weekend, call, or holiday requirements.

You will assess patients pre-operatively, monitor in PACU, manage pain, and collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia teams. MO RN license, BCLS, ACLS required; PALS if required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Missouri RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• BCLS certification required and maintained.
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS certification, if required by department.
• Radiology training/competency if radiology functions are part of role.
• BSN preferred.
• RN specialty certification (e.g., CNOR, CCRN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate in the OR to support patient safety, comfort, and efficient care.
• In PACU, monitor recovery from anesthesia, manage pain, and ensure stable vitals.
• Perform thorough pre-operative assessments to prepare patients for surgery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families about the recovery process.
