Job summary

Dunes Surgical Hospital is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide perioperative care, collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams, and ensure patient safety in the OR. Responsibilities include maintaining sterile technique, patient positioning, and accurate documentation.

The RN must be a graduate of an accredited program, hold an active RN license, and have BLS; AORN Perioperative 101 training may be required through mentorship.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of accredited college or university.
• Registered Professional Nurse with current state licensure.
• BLS Certification Required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must pass the AORN Perioperative 101 course during our Mentorship Program if no prior experience.

Responsibilities

• Damp dust the assigned OR suite and prepare it for use.
• Organize care for patients and gather equipment per surgeon’s cards.
• Ensure the surgical room is sterile and safe for the patient.
• Maintain sterile field with surgical technologists and address breaches in sterility.
• Preop interviews and patient assessments, verify documentation.
• Coordinate with CRNA to prepare patient for anesthesia and induction.
• Assist anesthesia provider during induction and emergence.
• Develop care plan with physician for the surgery.
• Ensure proper patient positioning and safety during procedure.
