Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality perioperative care at St. Charles Hospital. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, assess patients, and ensure a safe surgical environment through all phases of care.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree and RN licensure; BLS is required, and ACLS/PALS are preferred or may be required within 6 months based on department needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS Basic Life Support; ACLS or PALS preferred at hire (may be required within 6 months depending on department).
• CNOR certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment.
• Observe the surgery and surgical team and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the patient.
• Coordinate the needs of the surgical team with other care providers; manage nursing care in the OR.
• Provide pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care and discharge instructions.
