Job summary

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• BLS in good standing required.
• RN license in the state of employment or a compact.
• New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire for all experienced RNs.
• Annual competency validation and department-specific onboarding are required.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the CHRISTUS competencies: Leader of Self/Others/Leaders.
• Provides nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• Addresses complex psychosocial needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors effects.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications and care provided.
• Educates patients, families and caregivers on learning needs.
