Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Nantucket Cottage Hospital seeks an experienced perioperative nurse for a 100% onsite role on Nantucket Island, MA. Day shift with on-call duties, requiring strong OR knowledge and the ability to work independently.

Minimum qualifications include RN licensure, Bachelor's in Nursing, and BLS/CPR; ACLS/PALS within 6 months. CNOR/CEN/CCRN is preferred. Occasional overnight coverage may be required during patient transport emergencies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; RN license required.
• BLS/CPR certified within one week of hire; ACLS/PALS within 6 months.
• CNOR/CEN/CCRN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs operating room nursing with independence in related procedures.
• Maintains standards of practice for safe, effective nursing care.
• Interprets and complies with JCAHO, OSHA and state/federal rules.
• Preoperative assessment, intraoperative care and post-operative evaluation.
• Covers central supply; ensures adequate supplies are available.
• Supervises/mentors other perioperative staff; supports orientation.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per policy and law.
