Job summary

Nantucket Cottage Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Maternal Child Health unit. The role provides comprehensive obstetrical patient care, applying the nursing process and collaborating with the care team. You will document, plan, and adjust care, participate in shift handoffs, and support discharge planning.

Position is onsite at 57 Prospect Street with rotating shifts and 36 hours per week. Massachusetts RN license and BLS/CPR are required, with ACLS/NRP preferred; on-island

Qualifications

• Current nursing standards of practice required.
• Massachusetts Registered Nurse license required.
• BLS/CPR certification within one week of hire.
• NRP certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Two years of Labor and Delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect and document all patient data within 24 hours of admission.
• Document and report significant findings of ongoing assessment.
• Formulate patient plan of care using nursing theory with the care team.
• Communicate plan of care through shift reports and procedures.
• Plan individualized care and discharge within 24 hours of admission as needed.
• Provide leadership and coordinate assignment of staff; participate in committee work.
