Job summary

Openwork Health is seeking a dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to provide perioperative care before, during, and after surgery. You will work with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and scrub staff to support safe patient care in a fast-paced operating room.

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in good standing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications as required by facility standards.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure surgical environments.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition before, during, and after surgical procedures, providing comprehensive perioperative care.
• Prepare operating rooms by ensuring equipment and supplies are ready and sterile.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs, anticipate the needs of the surgical team, and respond promptly to emergencies.
• Assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals during operations, including instrument handling and maintaining a sterile field.
• Document nursing care and patient responses accurately and in accordance with facility protocols.
• Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, recovery processes, and postoperative care requirements.
• Adhere to infection control procedures and safety protocols to protect patients and colleagues.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuous improvement in surgical care.
• Maintain current knowledge of best practices and advancements in perioperative nursing.
