Job summary

NueHealth is seeking a perioperative RNFA to provide expert nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia professionals to optimize patient outcomes in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Responsibilities include reviewing patient histories, applying safety standards, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting hemostasis and tissue handling under the surgeon’s direction.

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing knowledge to perioperative patient care and problem solving.
• Reviews history, physical assessment, and preoperative tests to establish baselines.
• Implements patient safety standards during preparation of patient, equipment and environment.
• Acts as RNFA within scope of practice and delegated medical functions.
• Maintains focus and attention to detail during surgical procedures.
• Recognizes anatomical abnormalities affecting surgical intervention.
• Uses safe exposure techniques and retractors as required by procedure.
• Maintains situational adaptability during emergencies or unanticipated events.
• Assists with selecting suturing materials and techniques per surgeon’s preference.
• Ensures sterile technique and a sterile field throughout perioperative care.
• Monitors and responds to hemodynamic changes and blood loss; manages hemostasis.
• Participates in universal protocol verification and patient identification steps.
