Job summary

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to support surgeons during procedures in the operating room. The RNFA works closely with the surgical team to provide direct patient care and ensure a safe, efficient perioperative experience.

The role requires 2-5 years of perioperative nursing, an RN license, and CNOR certification. Certification as a First Assistant is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• 2-5 years of perioperative nursing experience.
• RN licensure; CNOR certification required.
• Certified First Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers intraoperative patient care as the first assistant to the surgeon.
• Collaborates with perioperative team to plan and execute patient care.
• Assesses, plans, and evaluates patient care through the perioperative continuum.
• Maintains safety, quality, and efficiency in the operating room.
• Supports ongoing professional development and practice standards.
