Job summary

Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services is seeking an OR Registered Nurse to provide high-quality perioperative nursing care for complex surgical patients at an academic medical center. You will perform comprehensive pre-, intra-, and post-operative assessments, coordinate patient care, and serve as circulator and scrub partner to ensure safe procedures.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license with perioperative knowledge.
• Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with perioperative workflows and advanced technology.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-, intra-, and post-operative assessments and coordinate patient care.
• Serve as circulator and/or scrub, supporting safe surgical procedures.
• Administer medications according to clinical standards and ensure patient safety.
• Provide patient and family education to support care understanding and recovery.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and communicate effectively with the care team.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, residents, and interdisciplinary staff.
• Contribute to teaching, research, and quality improvement efforts.
