Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Chestnut Operating Room team at Chestnut Outpatient Surgical Services, Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA. The RN will provide comprehensive perioperative care and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and support staff to ensure patient safety and high-quality outcomes.

Required MA RN licensure, current BLS, and at least 1 year in surgical services.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification.
• Minimum one (1) year of Registered Nurse experience in surgical services is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to adult and pediatric surgical patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care throughout the surgical experience.
• Serve as a patient advocate while promoting a culture of safety and quality.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes in condition throughout the perioperative process.
• Support a variety of surgical specialties within a fast-paced operating room environment.
• Adhere to evidence-based practice, infection prevention standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and outstanding patient experiences.
