Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Chestnut Operating Room team at Chestnut Outpatient Surgical Services, Baystate Medical Center, in Springfield, Massachusetts. The role provides perioperative care across adult and pediatric patients, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff to deliver safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification.
• Minimum one (1) year of Registered Nurse experience in surgical services is strongly preferred.
• ADN required. BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to adult and pediatric surgical patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care throughout the surgical experience.
• Serve as a patient advocate while promoting a culture of safety and quality.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes in condition throughout the perioperative process.
• Support a variety of surgical specialties within a fast-paced operating room environment.
• Adhere to evidence-based practice, infection prevention standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and outstanding patient experiences.
