MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Surgical Services team in Waterville. The part-time role (32 hours/week) runs Monday through Friday with days only and no on-call, weekend, or holiday obligations.

Expect cross-campus training with potential float to the Alfond Center for Health as needed. Your duties include planning and evaluating care plans, monitoring patient status, coordinating across disciplines, maintaining surgical equipment, and mentoring

You’ll ensure patient safety and comfort, support positive outcomes, and collaborate with a skilled multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care.

Position: Perioperative Registered Nurse
Location: Thayer Center for Health, Waterville
Schedule: Part-time (32 hours/week)
Shift: Days (M-F, no call, weekends or holidays)

Position Highlights

This position is M-F with no call, weekends, or holidays. However, you are expected to complete cross-campus training so you can float to the Alfond Center for Health if needed.

What You’ll Do

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Maintains and troubleshoots surgical equipment.
• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
• May precept student nurses and new hires.

• Current State of Maine RN license (or ability to obtain promptly).
• Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience preferred.

The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on‑call, and other applicable differentials.
