Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an RN to join 2 West, a 36-bed med/surg unit with oncology patients. The team-oriented environment supports career growth and provides a per diem schedule. You will care for patients, coordinate with the care team, and help teach and support students and new hires.

You must hold Maine RN licensure or be eligible, with at least 1 year of RN experience preferred. Generous time-off and education benefits accompany the role.

Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) on 2 West Provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

The Opportunity

MaineGeneral Health is offering an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on 2 West. 2 West is a 36 bed med/surg unit, with a small niche population of Oncology patients. Nurses on this unit love the team oriented "family" environment and the career growth opportunities in the Oncology specialty. This position has a Per Diem schedule.

The Work

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
• May precept student nurses and new hires.

You Have

Maine state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or ability to obtain in a timely fashion, required At least 1 year of RN experience preferred

Compensation Information

$36.00 - $63.00 The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
