MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Professional Development Practitioner RN to support education, development, and competency across outpatient practices. You will orient, educate, train, and assess staff while collaborating with outpatient leaders and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality care that meets regulatory standards.

The role focuses on orientation, ongoing education, skills training, and professional development for RNs, PSRs, and Medical Assistants in our Thayer Center

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Maine.
• Experience in outpatient/ambulatory care preferred.
• Educational or staff development experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Experience with staff education, competency assessment, or skills training preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements preferred.

Job Summary

MaineGeneral Health is looking to hire a Professional Development Practitioner to support education, professional development, and competency across our outpatient practices. This Registered Nurse will play an integral role in supporting PSRs, Medical Assistants, RNs, and medical staff through orientation, ongoing education, skills training, competency assessment, and professional development. The Professional Development Practitioner will collaborate with outpatient leaders and interdisciplinary teams to ensure staff have the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to provide safe, high-quality care while meeting organizational, regulatory, and accreditation standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced outpatient RN who is passionate about education, collaboration, and helping others grow in their practice.

Job Description

Position: RN - Professional Development Practitioner

Location: Thayer Center for Health, Waterville

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)

Shift: Days (M-F)

What You'll Do

• Collaborates with entire inter-disciplinary team to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.


• Designs, delivers, and assesses learning activities and curriculums related to clinical competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of clinical information technologies.


• Creates a supportive environment for nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement and evidence based practice.


• Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of new staff orientation and education activities.


• Serves as a consultant/mentor for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.

What You Bring

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Maine or ability to obtain promptly


• Experience working in a healthcare setting, with experience in an outpatient/ambulatory care environment strongly preferred


• Educational or staff development experience preferred


• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills


• Experience with staff education, competency assessment, or skills training preferred


• Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements preferred

Compensation Information

$39.00 - $68.25

The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
