The charge nurse is responsible for coordinating daily operations within the pre-operative, post-operative, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. This role provides clinical leadership, supports staff, facilitates patient flow, assists with staffing and patient assignments, and serves as a resource for physicians, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other multidisciplinary team members. The charge nurse promotes regulatory compliance, patient safety, teamwork, and effective communication while maintaining standards of care throughout the perioperative patient experience.
