Job summary

Salem Health is seeking an Operating Room Nurse to join our Level II Trauma Center at Salem Hospital. You will provide intraoperative care across multiple specialties in a busy, high-stakes environment.

The role involves 6:00 am–7:00 pm shifts with four 10-hour days, a 24/7 on-call component, and opportunities for professional development and CNOR/CRNFA certification.

Qualifications

• Requires current RN licensure in Oregon.
• Minimum one year of operating room nursing experience.
• BSN/BA or higher, or ADN with plan to advance within three years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver intraoperative nursing care for elective and emergent procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe surgical workflows.
• Perform ongoing patient assessments before, during, and after procedures.
• Support trauma-level surgical cases as part of a 24/7 team.
• Utilize advanced surgical equipment and technology.
• Communicate clearly in high-stress environments.
• Engage in education, certification opportunities (e.g., CNOR, CRNFA).

Schedule: Staggered shifts between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm, four 10-hour shifts, and variable call coverage

As an Operating Room Nurse at Salem Health, you’ll play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care to patients across all ages and backgrounds. Working in one of the busiest Level II Trauma Centers in the Pacific Northwest, you’ll support a wide range of surgical specialties across 18 state-of-the-art ORs—excluding only burn and organ transplants. Whether it’s an elective procedure or an emergent trauma case, your ability to assess, anticipate, and act will directly impact patient outcomes. What you'll do

Required qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BSN) or Bachelor of Arts degree in nursing, or non-nursing bachelor's degree with a Master of Science in nursing (MSN). Candidates with an associate's degree in nursing (ADN) and graduates of a diploma RN program are also encouraged to apply;ADN applicants with less than five years of acute care experience will be required to sign an agreement committing to complete their BSN or MSN degree within three years of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Current unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon.
• Minimum of one year ofoperating room nursing experience.
