Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse Pre-Assessment Testing in Highlands Ranch, CO to support perioperative care planning. The RN will assess preoperative patients, develop individualized perioperative plans, and collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure safe, efficient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of pre-op, PACU, and/or medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice in good standing.
• Successful completion of BLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• Successful completion of ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification required when pediatric care is included or during 90 days of employment.
• Perioperative or perianesthesia nursing certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Describe pathophysiology of commonly encountered diseases and anesthesia implications.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia care plan and ensure patient safety.
• Communicate patient status throughout perioperative care and coordinate with the team.
• Interviews preoperative patients to gather data and facilitates admissions.
• Review preoperative tests and notify physicians of abnormal or incomplete results.
• Serve as initial contact for referral sources for screening and clearance.
• Educate patients on medications to be taken on day of surgery and follow safety protocols.
