Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Perioperative Supervisor to lead day-to-day Surgery and SPD operations, ensuring safe, efficient patient flow and instrument processing. You will coordinate staffing, oversee regulatory readiness, and support a high‑reliability culture across departments.

The role may include hands‑on clinical support within licensure scope and acts on behalf of perioperative leadership. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesia, SPD staff and support services to maintain

Responsibilities

• Directs daily Surgery and SPD operations, case readiness, staffing deployment, breaks, add-on and urgent cases, instrument and implant availability, and turnover coordination.
• Provides supervision, coaching, scheduling, timekeeping, attendance management, recognition, corrective action, and evaluations for Surgery and SPD staff.
• Monitors infection prevention, aseptic practices, surgical safety processes, medication safety, specimen management, implant controls, decontamination, sterilization, storage and traceability.
• Coordinates decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, case-cart prep, and distribution of reusable medical devices.
• Tracks and reports operational and quality indicators; uses data to identify trends, lead improvements, and standardize processes.
