Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network, Inc. seeks an experienced Operating Room RN to direct and manage care for designated operative patients.

You will perform ongoing patient assessments and maintain a safe operating room environment, enforcing perioperative policies and procedures. Responsibilities include assisting surgeons, circulating and scrub duties, collaborating with the team, and ensuring safety and quality in the OR.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma in Nursing.
• Less than 1 year of OR experience or perioperative internship.
• Ability to perform assessments and nursing functions as acquired in basic nursing prep.
• Ability to plan, review, supervise, and inspect the work of others.
• RN license in Pennsylvania; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assist operating physician with surgical tasks and patient positioning.
• Contribute to overall patient care before, during and after surgery.
• Perform circulating functions: monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
• Perform scrub functions: selection and handling of instruments.
• Collaborate with physicians and team to address patient needs.
• Inspect sterile items for integrity and indicators in loads.
• Collect data to determine health or situation and assess issues.
• Control environment and safety in perioperative setting.
