Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking an experienced perioperative nurse to direct and manage care for operative patients in the Muhlenberg Operating Room. You will assist surgeons, perform circulating and scrub duties, and ensure safety, sanitation, and patient comfort throughout the perioperative process.

The role requires nursing licensure in Pennsylvania, specialized training in perioperative care, and strong teamwork and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma Nursing required.
• Less than 1 year OR experience or perioperative internship.
• Ability to perform assessments and nursing functions.
• Ability to plan, supervise, and inspect work of others.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to circulate surgical procedures.
• American Heart Association BLS - PA
• RN license in PA.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages care of designated operative patients.
• Assists operating physician with surgical tasks including homeostasis and suturing.
• Performs circulating functions: monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition.
• Performs scrub functions: instrument selection and handling.
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs.
• Ensures sterile items quality and safety compliance.
• Maintains safety and sanitation in the operating environment.
