Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma Nursing is required.
• Less than 1 year of experience in healthcare personnel.
• Current operating room experience or completion of perioperative internship program.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• RN license in the State of Pennsylvania (PA).

Responsibilities

• Assist operating physician with surgical tasks such as hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure and patient positioning.
• Contribute to overall patient care during the perioperative period through monitoring, recording, and communication of patient condition.
• Perform circulating functions: monitoring, recording, and coordinating patient care before, during, and after procedures.
• Perform scrub functions: selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to proactively address patient needs.
• Inspect sterile items for integrity and verify chemical indicators in loads.
