Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associate or BSN program.
• Successful completion of an accredited RN program (ASN/BSN).
• Perioperative, OR, or ambulatory surgery nursing experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR (NextGen/ECW) preferred.
• Ability to independently apply skills within the nursing scope of practice with provider supervision.
• Strong organizational, judgment, communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Cooperative and professional behavior toward patients, peers, and management.
• Demonstrates emotional intelligence and situational awareness.
• HIPAA/PHI privacy awareness and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient status across pre-op, operating room, and post-op areas on an ongoing basis.
• Provide safe, quality care using the nursing process and nursing diagnosis to achieve outcomes.
• Coordinate with healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Operate specialized clinical and surgical equipment safely and report malfunctions.
• Observe, assess, and document patient status and responses to care.
• Provide pre- and post-operative education to patients and families.
• Verify medication, allergy profiles, and documentation; ensure discharge readiness.
• Maintain patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality throughout care.
