Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a skilled Pre/Post Op Assistant Manager RN to join our team in New Jersey. This leadership role oversees the direct supervision of nursing staff and ensures safe, evidence-based perioperative care.

The shift is 5:30am-2pm, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, coaching, and ensuring staff compliance with OR standards and organizational policies. BSN and NJ RN license are required; CNOR and ACLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in NJ required.
• BSN degree required (or in progress) and eligibility for RN practice.
• CNOR certification preferred; ACLS/BLS required/specified.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of nursing staff and managing daily unit operations.
• Oversee hiring, counseling, and disciplinary processes with proper documentation.
• Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based perioperative nursing care.
• Maintain open communication with staff, physicians and management.
• Develop staff through orientation, precepting, and ongoing education.
• Collaborate with Nurse Manager on staffing, budgeting and compliance.
