Job summary

Atlantic Health in Morristown, NJ is seeking a perioperative nurse to lead general nursing activities in the operating room. The registered nurse designs, coordinates, and delivers care using the nursing process to meet patients’ needs during operative or invasive procedures, and collaborates with physicians and the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
• ASN must complete BSN within five years of start date.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and restores patient health through the nursing process and collaboration with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Establishes a compassionate environment providing emotional and spiritual support to patients and families.
• Adheres to standards of care, regulations, and hospital policies to ensure quality outcomes.
• Maintains safe, clean environments and calls for assistance as needed.
• Follows infection-control policies and safe medication/storage practices.
• Documents and communicates actions and needs using SBAR while protecting patient privacy.
• Ensures equipment function, performs troubleshooting, and coordinates repairs as necessary.
• Prepares case readiness with supplies, equipment, and implants per procedure and doctor preferences.
• Maintains professional knowledge through continuing education and certifications as required.
• Contributes to high-quality patient outcomes through teamwork with peers, supervisors, surgeons, and anesthesiologists, upholding PRIDE values.
