Job summary

Mercy is seeking a peri-operative RN to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for surgical patients in alignment with the plan of care and hospital policies. You will document findings in the medical record, supervise ancillary staff, and collaborate with physicians across departments to optimize patient outcomes.

The role requires strong peri-operative skills, pain management, and a commitment to safety, with opportunities to participate in marketing OR services and support Mercy’s mission.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Licensure: RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Experience: Working knowledge of General procedures, GYN, EENT, Urology, Orthopedic procedures and related areas.
• Certifications: CPR or ACLS or scheduled in next class.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate peri-operative patient care.
• Communicate findings and document in the patient’s medical record.
• Manage/oversee care by ancillary and other personnel.
• Develop collaborative relationships with physicians and interdepartmental staff.
• Participate in marketing of operating room services to the medical staff.
• Maintain competency in peri-operative care and pain management.
• Ensure safety and infection control policies are followed.
• Support the Mercy mission.
